Both my compressors have drain valves at the bottom of the tank. After using each, I drain the accumulated air if I won't be using the compressor shortly. There is typically a lot of moisture within the tank, that can cause rusting if let to sit for weeks or months on end. I remember one time I took the compressor in for warranty work, and obviously the repair people did not drain the tank after testing, I drained the tank when I got home, and got a large puddle of rusty water. It had only been in the shop for a few days!
I also find the wheels to be a desirable feature. Given a choice, I usually find myself going for the 20 year old red Craftsman (on wheels) versus the newer Dewalt (no wheels and heavy). I guess if you have one of those small 5 gallon tanks it wouldn't make that much of a difference.
