I have recently gone from a 10" ryobi drill press to a 16.5" floor model delta. While the new drill press is awesome, I sacrificed some storage below my bench model. This leads to me to my question....
I can either...
1. spend a bunch of time building a cabinet for under the new dp.
or
2. buy a rolling cabinet that will fit under my new dp.
Sears has a candidate that is 14" deep, and 32" tall, and would fit nicely on clearance, for 118$. If I use slides for my cabinet, it's not a big savings to build. The only issue is that my new dp in on a htc2000, and the flip levers are about 9" off of the ground. So this sears cab, with 5" clearance, would not fit over those levers.
I don't intend to move the dp around much, the htc2000 is mostly for convenience in the "what if" case, and when I eventually sell this place, it'll be easier to move into a moving truck. So I could remove the flippers, and use the sears cabinet, or I'm back to building one, which is fun, but takes precious time that could be spent building other things...
Does this argument seem sound to you guys? Any input or ideas?
thanks,
