Is this Jet TS a good deal?

I can't find much info on this TS, other than the description offered. For those in the know on JET saws, would this be a good deal? (I'm not looking for the jointer or shaper)

    Thanks for any comments.

The Jet table saw looks to have cast iron wings and an Exacta fence, all good. The price of $500.00 is rather high, this saw should sell @ $300.00 to $350.00 tops. In December 2007, the Rockler store in Seattle sold a new saw with a cheaper fence for $400.00 out the door plus sales tax.

Normally 50 to 60% of retail new, is the average price for a used saw in good condition.

$500 is on the steep side. It doesn't show a miter gauge, blade guard, mobile base, or any blades as extras. I agree with Hoover...the fence and CI wings are nice, but it's just standard contractor saw with a nice fence and CI wings. $500 for a used saw should buy more than that, I might offer $400 if it's in really nice shape and if there are any goodies thrown in.

For $600-$750 you could buy a new Jet Proshop hybrid.

I'm with the others... $500 is too pricey. Have seen many better saws in that price range. You might try to negotiate a better number, if he's amenable, or just wait for a better deal to come your way, as it surely will.

Thanks for the feedback. That's what I thought, but wasn't sure. I'm not in a hurry yet to replace my BT3, but if a good deal comes along I may jump. But I don't always recognise good deals.

Well then...that puts you in the driver seat to offer what is a good deal for you if the saw is serviceable....
