Just got a new DC- where's the cheapest place to get fittings?

OK, so I bought my first dust collector- a Jet DC-1200FS for $120. It didn't come with a hose. I plan on using it by carting it to each tool as needed and hooking it up directly. I have a small basement workshop, so I don't have a lot of extra headroom for ducting and such.

    Thanks!

Depending on what you need, I have a boxfull of fitting left over from my install that I'll let go cheap. I can't help you out with the hose though.

        Mike-
I'll check what connections I need for each tool and get back to you.

I'd rather not buy a kit, as I really only need whatever is required to connect to my individual tools- table saw, sander, BS, Lathe, router table...

I'll pull the box down out of the overhead but I way overbought what I needed since my floor layout didn't wind up anywhere near what I originally had in mind. If nothing else I have several quick connect (4") fittings that come in handy.

Eh, I didn't even realize they were coming to town. But I've always heard that there aren't that many good deals there. Better prices can be found online... But it's worth a look. As far as the fittings go, I would like to have at least some things hooked up by then.

I just took a quick look and I'll list what I have to get rid of. If it's worth while, you can have it for the price of shipping. If you're staying portable though, this stuff may not do you any good.

                    2 - 2 1/2" dust ports
                    2 - 4" elbows
                    3 - 4" y's
                    2 - 4" blast gates (plastic)
                    2 - 2 1/2" metal blast gates
                    1 - 4" to 2 1/2" adapter
                    2 - 4" flex - quick connect fittings
                    3 - 4" DC hose splices
2 - 4" PVC to DC Flex hose fittings
                    2 - Schedule 20 to 4" DC adaptors

Not really cheap per se but the Lee Valley Blast Gates are absolutely awesome. I mean really, really awesome. Beats plastic gates that get jammed up all day long.

Jeff, can you share any insights on how those Lee Valley gates mate up with the green S&D pipe (ASTM 3034) and matching fittings?

Last year, when I put in my hard pipe system, I looked hard at the LV gates because I'd had some not-so-great experience with the black plastic ones. But at the time the plastic jobs were on sale for $1.99, so I decided to go with those and install them with the slide horizontal; I figured the most I could lose was $1.99 per gate if that didn't help with the jamming problem. Well, it's looking increasingly like I lost $1.99 per gate ...

If you dog-ear the plastic gates they won't jam (gives the sawdust somewhere to go when you close them). This has worked remarkably well. I'm sure the metal ones are nice, but the plastic ones work just fine when modified.
