    New Festool Product

Nothing in the reviews seems too innovating. Will be curious about the price

I can see nothing that would make me even consider getting rid of my Hitachi 12" CSMS and I doubt it can achieve the depth of that saw. The price I have seen rumored from some Euro posters based on the Euro price currently would put it somewhere between $1000-$1200. But even Bob Mariano does not know for sure till it heads this way.

But I suppose the prestige of having the name on the side would do it for some as I am convinced at this point that there are a few that feel you cannot complete a finished piece properly unless it is done on a "you know what" brand. And that is not to say that all "you know what" owners are that brain-washed... but some are to that extent IMO.

If my Uncle Alvin were still living, I would introduce them to a carpenter that his entire life built houses from two 4" long wooden tool-boxes. Never owned a power tool period till the early 60's when he was given an electric drill. Those houses still stand today and will still be standing long after that someone that purchased a "you know what" too has long departed.

Sorry for the mild rant... I'll get back down to the shop where I belong!

I read a write up on it awhile back. I know it has two features that set it apart: zero clearance is needed behind it so it can be set up against a wall. it will cut taller crown molding in postition than any other saw it's size.

        I think I'll keep my $550 bosch.

I found a video of gary katz demo'ing it. I've attended a few of his classes and he is well respected in the high end finish carpentry field.

fast forward to about 5 mins if you don't want to see their tricky little trim router.
