    Jointer Decision

I'm about to make my first purchase of a 6" jointer. I've ordered a Rikon 20-110 from Woodcraft that hasn't been delivered, so I could probably cancel. It was on sale for $399 and includes mail-in for a set of knives valued at $49.

I just got the new sales flyer from Woodcraft which has a special on the Delta 37-275X with a $100 Delta rebate and and a 10% off one-day special at Woodcraft for a total cost of $421.

I'm looking for advice on which is the better deal since they are closely priced. Anybody have experience with eother of these two?

    Thanks for your help.

Jointer's being what they are, I doubt if either is considerably better or worse than the other. Personally, I prefer the front mounted handwheel adjustment controls on the Rikon over the side mounted slide type on the Delta.

Rikon has locking cutterhead, bigger motor, and micro-adjust fence. Weighs 40 lbs more, too.
