Has anyone seen the kreg router fence. I like the idea of the fence being square to the miter track. This will allow use of a miter gauge without major setup. I think it should work kinda like a slide you see which are mounted to the fence. I actual went to urchase a JessEm fence but they were out of stock then I saw the Kreg. I decided to hold off until I research it and sleep on it. Price was comparable to other fences. Any thoughts?

Why would you need to worry about the fence being parallel to the miter track? Would you ever need to use both at the same time? Seems somewhat dangerous to me, but maybe I'm just thinking of a TS. Of course, I have never used a miter slot on a router table before.Joe -
I use my fence all the time, my miter gauge rarely, and never use them together. If you're doing edge work you don't need the miter guide, and if you're cutting dadoes you can mess up your work or have the piece bind.
I do use a sled very often, but a sled has a flat bottom that sits on top of the table, not in the track. That lets me keep the workpiece at 90 degrees to the fence without worrying about binding.-JoeComment

Thanks guys. I have a sled as you described and it rides on the fence w/o using the slot also, I do recall using a miter slot a couple of times but cannot remember what for. after calling Kreg they say it would work the same as the JessEm that is attached to the fence. Must be pretty accurate for that!! We will see.
