    Steel City Dust Control

Anybody have any experience with the Steel City 1.5 hp unit? Typical design with a cloth upper bag, clear plastic lower bag and the motor mounted on the bottom, 6" outlet size.
It has a cloth upper bag rated at 1 micron, faceplate CFM's are in the 1200 range. Seems like a more cost effective option than the comparable Delta 1.5 hp model, with more effective filtration. Very similar to the HF design.

Ease of bag installation and removal seems to be a key issue with this type of design.

Everyday retail is about $319 at Tool City and WoodCraft. Made in the Canada.

I haven't had experience with any of the steel city units but the one that intrigues me is the new single tool unit that connects directly to the tool. Can be changed from tool to tool (pretty easily, they claim) only about 300 cfm but for under $100 it looks interesting to use on my tools that don't have dc right now.

Probably not going to find a lot of experience with it as it is relatively new to this company that is new itself. Having said that, it has great specs though that machine will never be able to move 1200 cfm of free air, much less with installed duct work resistance, etc. Not a knock on the machine, I just don't believe it or any other 1.5hp unit like this with a 10.5" impeller can move that kind of air.
