I'm considering buying a Festool Multifunction Table. I've seen video of it being used with its crosscut fence and guiderail. Seems like a great system, and I'd hope to use it in place of a traditional workbench. Does anyone have one of these, and what do you think of it? Is it sturdy? Thanks.

I prefer the EZ Smart Guide and the EZ Smart Table. Have them both and love them. http://www.eurekazone.com/products/index.html
I also see they have a new offering called the EZ Power Bench, but it doesn't appear cost-effective.
Of course, if you have Festool power tools you may as well stick with the brand. But otherwise you should really consider the EZ Smart.

The photos above are of the CMS and this is not available to the US market. The MFT is available in 2 sizes. While you will need a Festool circular saw to make use of the rail on the MFT you can use other tools and jigs for holding while sanding, etc. I would not buy it if you do not plan to purchase their saw (or Makita's knockoff).
I have the large MFT and it sees a lot of use. It is primarily used as my crosscutting/mitersaw station. The rail is hinged and when swung up it frees up the table for assembly, clamping, etc. The legs fold up and this makes it nice for storage or transport.
Lots of info at www.festoolownersgroup.com
Try to find some one local to let you really give it a workout if you can. Festool does have a 30 day satisfaction guarantee.

I have one I use for my layout table until my saw arrives. It's the dog's b's.
When I have the spare time (and cash) I'm going to build a bigger version and buy the extrusions to fitComment
