    Grizzly Customer Service

Time and time again these folks just impress the heck out of me! UPS didn't do a bad job either!

Placed an order for parts for dual drum sander (hook and look upgrade kit) and edge sander (table mounted miter gauge) yesterday at 4:39 PM. It will be here today. Now I know I am here in PA where the item was being shipped from, however I am really impressed yet again.

Sometimes when I find myself impressed w/ how fast things can move via UPS or even the post office, but then I realize how fast they would become bloated if they slowed in one area or another.

Still very impressive for the volume they handle.

There are unbelievable automated routing systems at the major UPS depots. People there have little to do but drive the trucks in and out.

OH YA? Last time I checked there were hundreds of us in college loading and unloading the packages from the trailers onto the conveyer system then loading them on to the truck. There was NO standing around! LOL!

The automatic systems are amazing though.

But from the time a package leaves a truck until it lands in another one, not a soul looks at it, much less touches it. All sorted automatically and on the move by the conveyor system. Looks like a gigantic model railroad layout with all the trains running wide open at once.

Absolutely, especially at the big hubs for UPS and FedEx. My Dad has been with UPS 32 years. I remember when he started part time loading trucks. Everything was hand sorted, even in hubs.

Stopped by the Grizzly store in Muncy Tuesday... WOW! I would recommend the trip to anyone in the area - worth the drive! 200K sq ft of tools - it is so overwhelming that it takes about 10 minutes of wandering to fully get your bearings. I only bought some clamps, but I have spent the last two nights circling things in their catalog - I feel like I'm a kid again with the Sears Christmas catalog!
              Thanks:

I know what you mean. I "make" myself have a business trip up there about once per month. Naturally I have to stop in and make sure everything is ok.

Glad to hear that I am not the only one who carried over the Sears Christmas catalog thing over from childhood. I had that thing memorized by mid-November.

I absolutely agree with everything said about them. My w/w'ing buddy and I make the trip from northern NY to Muncie every year just so we can oggle all the tools and stuff. Between us we have probably spent close to 8K with them. We do lots of catalog shopping too. Can't say enough about customer service..if something is not right with what you bought..send it back (they pay the shipping both ways) and within less than a week the replacement is in your hands. No questions asked! Couldn't find friendlier folks ifn you tried. Not to leave out UPS; they do a super job; if I'am not home the driver (same one for last 5 yrs) just leaves the stuff in my shop. Well thats my 2cents worth.

In slight contrast re: UPS, a clothing package from a different supplier has been idle since last night. UPS has already made their rounds today, so it'll be Monday at the soonest....not bad mind you, but today would have been impressive!

These comments make me feel better

I am thinking of driving up to Springielf Mo., and buying a new Griz' table saw. The 3hp left tilt (G1023SL) is the one I am looking at. It makes me more comfortable knowing that their customer service is so highly regarded.

That saw is a super buy too. I've had mine for over a year, and can't think of anything bad to say about it except I wish it had a riving knife. Pat

They have a 12 inch with a riving knife so maybe there is hope of a 10 inch soon.

Yet another great encounter! I called last night to discuss installation of the hook and look conversion kit for the 24" dual drum sander. It included no instructions (that kind of sucks). Yes it is pretty evident how they install however I had a question about the existing wrap on the rear drum, its removal and the alignment of the rear drum post installation. Got the front line service person who had a very, very strong middle east accent so I thought I was routed to India as it was after hours. Turned out he knew pretty much what I was talking about however he advised he had not been trained on the installation so he transfered me to a upper level tech. This guy new the product forward and backwards and had done this installation tons of time. Can you imagine the tool alignment, set up, repair knowledge in this guys head?!?!? Anyway, answered all questions and advised to call back anytime. All this took about 5 minutes with no hold time.

I was looking at one of the new cabinet saws from Grizzly and noticed that there was not a manual to view. Called customer service and in short order had one rolling in on my fax.
I've purchased a planer, jointer and bandsaw from these folks and cannot say anything negative about my service from them or (Overnight) UPS delivery.
