Ryobi Lithium Ion Question

Anybody pulled the trigger on these yet? What is the published torque on the drill? What are your overall impressions?

I'm trying to decide if the $259 vs. $159 for the 4 pc LI set over the 5 pc.One+ set is justified. The only 'tool' I would be giving up is the vacuum. I can always upgrade to the LI batteries/chargers later. Both the drills in the Plus+ system claim 330 in. pounds of torque.

One pro to going with the LI now is that it comes with a charger and 2 batteries. A charger and 1 battery is $100 now. I haven't seen the LI batteries on the shelf any other way.

I got the big kit and while there aren't major differences in the tools from the normal "blue" One+ tools, the drill is a little lighter, feels as if it has more torque (still rated at 330 in. lb.), now has a level and is easy to find anywhere (it practically glows in the dark). All of the tools feel lighter.

The charger does charge both types of batteries and the tools work well on the LI.

First time I heard this. I was under the understanding/belief that the chargers were specific to each type of battery. Wonder if the blue charger will handle the lithium ion?

My understanding is that the new LiOn charger will charge both the new LiOn and the old NiCad batteries, but the old charger will not work on the new batteries

Lithium batteries like a slower charge.
I'd be careful charging with a NiCd or NiMH charger that has a fast rate of charge. (like 1 hr charge)
They've been known to blow and catch fire..
Just be sure.
