Any Craftsman 22114 saw owner with a Shark guard/splitter combo? Seems like it would be handy not to have the splitter sticking out the back where you'd like to have a hinged outfeed table, and to have the extra dust collection up top. But is it stable enough without that back anchor point? And does the guard clamp limit even more the depth of cut possible? I'm spoiled by the BT3100's 3-1/2" cut . . .

The 22114 set up is identical to the 22124 in the mounting aspect. Thom has a SG on his 22124 that works perfectly. He is very pleased with it. It impressed me enough to buy one for my Unisaw. -
As far as I know, you still retain nearly the full depth of cut when you use the tallest splitter. I design them with that in mind for models with splitters. You loose a little depth of cut with the riving knife models, but it's a fair trade off for being able to leave the knife in place for non through cuts.
I personally think these are every bit as rigid as the OEM blade guards and possibly even more so with some models.
There are a few Shark/Craftsman owner's that I know of on this forum. There are many more on Woodnet and Sawmill Creek. Not that I would suggest you go there.

Ok, I will add this . . . .Any Craftsman 22114 saw owner with a Shark guard/splitter combo? As you will figure out over time the guards on the zip code saws are kind of junky. The snap in element is nice, but as Lee alludes to and I will definately confirm, the steel material is much more robust on the SG. I owned the zip code saw that Thom has for about a year prior to getting my Unisaw. I did not have SG on it and really disliked the guard after a while. I always had issues with alignment using that guard.
The second thing I will add is that a nice close, tight fitting ZCI that hugs the splitter would add additional support. I don't think it is needed, however I but my ZCI's pretty snug on the rear to allow them to really add stability to the SG.Comment
