The latest issue of ShopNotes has an article on using the table saw to edge joint stock. Basically the same process as would be used on a router table. An auxillary fence is used with the blade partially buried in the fence and the outfeed side of the fence offset about 1/16". For those without a jointer this may be an alternative for edge jointing.
I suppose one could also face joint narrow boards (3" or less) in the manner as well although the article did not mention that.
