And the way Amazon customer service apparently is set up, each iteration of attempting to resolve a confusing situation multiplies the confusion, making it even harder to explain at the next level.
Really, anything could happen if the return label stayed outstanding. Also, the most expensive thing called "Treasure..." something is a few hundred bucks--without a separate SKU for the trowel, and with the fence faces no longer available, who knows what some CSR could decide to do?
Anyway, here's an update on the faces themselves, which has nothing to do with Amazon. I took one set out of their bubble-wrap cocoon.
For the first time, I noticed that one side (the inner when they were bookmatched and cocooned in bubble wrap and tape) has four keyhole insets--must be how they "attach" to the HTC fences. (That's not exactly the right term with that kind of hardware because it can be slipped on and off.)
Very cool, because they hit at just about the same height as the groove in the blade side of the BT fence.
I've been experimenting with little bolts and nuts to see how to best interface with the groove.
If one of these were cut in half, it would have two keyhole inserts and go from the front of the BT rip fence to just behind the blade guard. (Slightly longer than half would look better, going a couple of more inches to the end of the fence--with the other piece still being plenty long enough for attaching to something else.
Here's a picture--these things are 3/4" thick and slightly taller than the BT fence when stood up.
As always, the light on my back porch at night does very strange things. It's not scratched, but very shiny, which doesn't help the glare and light bouncing off the glass behind it.
I'm open to all ideas for "attaching" it--seems almost custom made for our BTs and all their modular extrusions.
Amazingly cool and perhaps a new addition to the BT modules.
