I stopped at the local Lowe's today to look at the Hitachi EC79 air compressor and found that they are no longer carrying them. Then I happened to see the Hitachi CB6Y 10" Tilt Head Band Saw priced at $199. Having little experience using a band saw, I don't know what to look for, but this one was really interesting. Besides the tilt head, it also has the dust collection system that the Ryobi BS1001SV was known for which was called Silent Vac then. It only had about 5" vertical cutting height. If anyone gets a chance to check this out please offer your opinion. I have very limited floor space so have to try to get the most out of it.

If memory serves, it is a three wheeler although of a different configuration than the standard bench-top 3-wheel band saws. That alone was enough to make me skeptical of blade tracking, blade life, etc. So, I too would be very interested in hearing from someone who owns the saw and has put it through it's paces.Don't be stupid, the universe is watching. -

Amazon has these for 179.00 plus a 50.00 instant rebate, and you 20% more off if you buy 300 in hitiachi tools, so you could add the drill press, which also has a 50 dollar instant rebate, and a free set of forstner dill bits. bet you need to call to get it all to work,
http://www.amazon.com/Hitachi-CB6YI-...5270799&sr=8-1
should be like this
Drill 149.99
bandsaw 179.00
forstner bit 22.31
- 50.00 rebate for drill
- 50.00 rebate for bandsaw
- 101.40 20% off hitiachi
-22.31 for free forstner
free shipping
= $128.xx
I would try it if i needed either, heck i even might try throwing on the belt sander to get another 50.00 rebate and the additional 20% if it comes back in stock
