First tool gloat - Delta 22-580 planer

11 years ago when my 2nd daughter was born I quit racing bicycles (because it is such a time intensive hobby with all of the time being spent away from home).
Today I traded 3 racing bicycles that I haven't ridden since I stopped racing plus a box of misc parts for a nearly new Delta 22-580 planer. I've got an extra set of blades and the dust hood as well. Woo hoo!

I actually don't have a project in mind. I haven't made anything since junior high (more than 25 years ago) so my plan is to learn the techniques for awhile before I worry about projects.

Sounds like a win-win deal to me! Nice...

If you've got a Lowe's near you, I'd stop by and see if they have any replacement blades left on the clearance table. I've got the same planer (it's very nice, by the way), and have picked up a couple sets of blades at various local Lowe's for $6 per set recently. I got one set for $3 just today.
