    Band Saw Blade psi Help

I came upon an old issue of FWW and they had a fairly simple plan to make your own tension gage for band saw blades. My current saw (Rikon) tension gage reads only in blade width (inches).

Is there any material (chart, table, Loring?) that will enable me to utilize the measured data to what the saw blade needs in tension.

Bruce, there has been lots of discussion at Sawmillcreek.org about blade tension gauges. Mark Duginske, author of several bandsaw books, insists that not only are the built-in gauges adequate, he argues that they are more accurate than the aftermarket (big $$$) gauges.

I find the built-in gauge on my Inca bandsaw to give me all the info I need.
