Do I need an Air Cleaner

I have a small 2 car garage (only use 1 side for ww) and I like to work with the garage door open and I use a DC. Maybe I'm a little claustrophobic. Would an air cleaner still benefit me? Or would I be ending up filtering air from the outside?
I reject your reality and substitute my own.

I think a box fan would work better. No sense filtering the air if you can exchange it instead. If you have a window or door on the opposite side of the shop and a fan set up at the garage door, you could create an excellent cross draft. You won't have to be concerned about the really fine dust because it will get sucked right out.

You have to be pretty stoic to pull this off in the winter though. If you live in an area where you have nice weather year round and the neighbors let you work with the garage door open, you really have something to gloat about.

What if you don't have a door or window on the opposite side to good cross ventilation - will the fan work just as good? Should still be circulating and replacing the air.
