I have had a Harbor Freight 10" SCMS for a couple of years as a homeowner.

My friend, who does basement renovations on the side, has used his for many years with success.

Black Friday, I purchased the 12" version of this unit for $92 and sold my 10" to offset the cost of the larger capacity saw.

The 12" came with a laser that was useless so I installed my Irwin Laser Washer that I was using on the other saw and it lined up exactly where the blade cuts (better than on my 10" blade).

Use a 20% off coupon, buy the Harbor Freight saw next time it goes on sale, http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/cta...emnumber=98194 , and have a economical tool.

      1st post!

      First I had a Dewalt 10" non-slider.
It was very good but small.

I replaced it with an 10" Hitachi SCMS.
Very accurate with much bigger capacity.
Identical to one I used for work for 6 months.
      Sold that to downsize.

      Yesterday I picked up a like-new Ridgid NS 12".
12" for capacity and NS so I don't slide it through the wall.
I'll just be cutting bowl blanks and beveling firewood ends (don't ask).

I sold my BT3100 Mimi saw about 4-5 years ago when I got a 45 Unisaur.
Sold that to downsize and saw a NIB! 3000 on CL.
Went and got it for $180.

      Brandy new BT3000 for $180

Once upon a time I had a link to someone's base-for-a-BT3100 project they made but can't find it.
Anyone have linkeys to BT base cabinets 4 me?

      Thanks

          LOL
Monk is that annoying OCD guy on TV that I can't stand.

          Since you asked:
My woodstove is a tube with a flat front & back and no grill/rack inside.
I have to build a campfire in it everytime I use it.
I have to miter/bevel (which one is correct?) the ends of the crossway (bottom) logs so they'll fit low enough in the stove.
          It's a PITA
