    Art With Teeth

Several weeks ago Brian From Dawson Creek posted a beautiful dovetail saw that was hand made by a woodworker in Canada. I immediately fell in love with it and had to have one. I wanted a real good DT saw to use and a quality product to hand down to a grandson in 30-40 years.

Brian was kind enough to get me in contact with Ed and the arrangements were made. I had to wait several weeks for it to be made, but the wait was absolutely worth every minute of it.
I very proudly present my new Medallion Toolworks custom made dovetail saw: (the picture doesn't begin to do the craftsmanship justice)

    It looks great, but...

how does it cut? If it cuts half as good as it looks, you should be thrilled.

    Nice saw.

Beautiful saw Ken. Almost too pretty to use. What's the specie of the stock? Will you divulge the cost?

Beautiful saw, Ken! I, too am interested in the cost. Stock appears to be Honduran Rosewood.

It cuts sweet. I now realize I have never used a real quality handsaw. My problem with handcut DT's has been maintaining the angledown the cut and across the thickness.
This little guy stays where you start it and cuts like thru butter.

The handle is Cocobolo but other woods are available. Below is some info on the saw from Ed:

The brass back is ¼"x ¾"x8" with a milled slot for the blade
              > The saw plate is 0.020" thick
              > The useful part of the blade can be made to order from 1-1/2" to 2-1/2"
              > (2"recommended)
              > 15 ppi. Filed rip (16ppi and x-cut teeth are available), approx 0.05" set
              on each side.
              > Option of Pau Rosa, Cocobolo, Padauk, QS European Beech, Cumaru,
Christobal (very similar to Bubinga) traditional open handle. I also have ziricote and claro walnut available for an additional $15.

I haven't asked Ed about posting prices but I will email him and ask, it is considerably less than the Adria. (http://www.adriatools.com/handsaw/dovetail_saw.html)

              Ed has other saws also.

              EDIT:
The price is $100 plus $12 shipping.

It's truly gorgeous, Ken. Are you handing out cigars?
