    New Tool Gloats

In the last few weeks I scored several new tools (some right out of the box) for 1/2 off or more:
Delta JT360 jointer for $250 (used a few times) current price $440, saved $190.
Craftsman Radial Arm Saw 22010 for $200 (assembled and used once?) current price $647, saved $447.
Craftsman 22401 14 inch bandsaw for $200 (new in box) current price $499, saved $299.

To continue the gloat, I got a brand new, right out of the box Rigid Oscillating Edge/Belt Sander for $8.95 from Home Depot? How you might ask? I redeemed 20,000 bonus points from my Citibank credit card for a $200 gift card. All I had to do was pay 5% tax.

Total Cost of Tools: $1,794.95, total paid: $658.95, Savings $1,136.

    Happy Friday to all.

    Greg

Ps Anyone in the Washington DC area should check out Craigslist. The guy I purchased the tools from is selling other new in the box tools.

I hear ya. What kills me is the price of wood in other parts of the country compared to cali. Seems like most states literally pay less than half of what we pay here per bf.

Greg - Nice haul by the way, YOU SUCK!

Yes, you suck but nice catch. Its good to see folks get a good deal on tools. Now go to work and make some neat stuff.

And Ryan is right, the price of wood in SoCal also sucks, can't even find a reasonable place to buy red oak. Sucks to be us.

Yea, it looks like something borked the link hits there. Easy enough to search CL for the # in the dot-dot-dot compressed text to get to the page in question.

Hey Ryan I'm not sure if you've already seen this but there's a guy doing a lumber run to OC. Only problem (for me anyways) is he has a minimum of 150 bf and that's more wood than I need and, more importantly, more than I can afford right now. Here's a link to his woodnet post. http://www.forums.woodnet.net/ubbthr...lapsed&sb=5&o=
I'm new to ww and don't know a whole lot about wood pricing but it seems decent.
