Thanks to the advice given to me on this forum a while ago, I decided I wanted a decent SCMS. I ended up with a Craftsman "Professional" 10", which turned out to be made by Ryobi and far from professional quality. Just wasn't happy with it considering what it cost and decided to return it.
I boned up on reviews and then went to the big boxes and decided I'd like a Makita 10". Still have to return the Craftsman and no current sales so I decided I can wait. Then I remembered a regional franchise, Tool Crib, had a pretty good selection of tools so decided to stop in and see.
What I found was a 2 for 1 deal on the Makita LS1214F 12" slider. Took about 2 seconds to decide on that.
Gave my dad first chance at the second one and he wanted it. So with tax and all it will end up costing me about $330 for a $624 saw (currently $647 @ Amazon).
If my dad wouldn't have wanted one I really could have made out by selling it. But I'm not going to complain about that.

Nice score.
