Dust extraction from Bosch ROS

I've got the 1295DVS Random Orbit Sander, and want to hook it up to my shop vac (even though the canister works fairly well - I know the vac has got to do better (??). I see that they sell this RS006 adapter (takes from the square adapter to round (what size?): http://www.amazon.com/Bosch-Adapter-...5384035&sr=8-1 But then they sell this VAC001 hose http://www.amazon.com/BOSCH-Standard...5384035&sr=8-1 (15' !!!!!)

So, does anyone know - is the adapter size non-standard and you have to use Bosch's $33 hose?? Will this dramatically improve the dust extraction (I know it wont get it all), or should I just stick with the canister and dump it frequently? Thanks

I have the VAC001 hose on my 1250devs and there it leaves almost no dust behind. it is a 19mm hose fitting which is a bit oddball.
that hose seems flimsy, but I have abused it alot and it is still in great shape.

I have that sander, and I have it hooked to my vac when I use it, there is a HUGE improvement in dust management by doing this. I do use the RS006 adapter, but from there you have troubles. I didn't buy the bosch hose, as I don't want to have yet another hose laying about. For a while I used the Fein step adapter, and that gets really close to the correct size, but you need to do a bit of taping for the connection to hold.

Then I bought myself a 1617 router, and it had an adapter that fits the sander and solved the problem. As far as I know Bosch doesn't sell this adapter by itself, which seems stupid to me. If someone finds it, let us all know, as I'll buy another one.

EDIT: This adapter looks to come with the bosch edge guide, which is also around 35$, but worth it if you have a bosch router.

Keith - are you saying that from the RS006 there is an adapter (that was included with your router) that then converts it to standard shop vac hose?

I feel the same way - dont want to have another hose laying around if I dont have to - but you guys have me convinced I need to get the sander connected though.
