    My first major tool gloat!

Sears Craftsman Professional 14" band saw with a 1.5HP motor. It needs further adjustment and some more cleanup (rust removal from some small parts) and a new blade. The tires are in good shape and are of the synthetic type. Overall it is in pretty good condition.
I picked up this band saw off of a craigslist advertiser today for $200. After I got it home and put it back together (had to take it apart to fit it in my little Saturn) and partially adjusted (no manual yet) I did get it to cut a small piece of wood.

        Evening...

Nice ride ya picked up there, Sparkey. I would paint the name "Sparkey" on the upper case and get a racin' helmet and some shoulder harnesses. Let it rip on the straight-a-ways and slow down only for the curves. ha.. ha...

Seriously... nice catch so enjoy the fruits of your efforts!

        Regards...

Actually according to owwm.com it is a Rexon made machine. Given the part prefix of 137.

If it is the 22432 it is in fact identical to the Hitchi.

Here is a nice little forum dedicated to Hitachi CB13F and the Craftsman 22432 sibling.

It is a 137.224140. I bought a new cheapo blade to replace the one that came with the saw. The old one had a slight bend in one spot that was causing blade vibration on the up travel side. After eliminating that there still seems to be some vibration in the upper section somewhere. Tires maybe? Bearings are solid but the wheel itself flexes a little. The blade itself tracks well and does not move around. The nickel she don't stand up. The drive belt is in great shape no cracks or rot. Not sure that the drive belt could cause that much vibration that high up in the saw. The vibration is visible at the guide when the guide post is lowered.
