    Blades-N-Bits

I noticed that over the last few days the Blades-N-Bits site has a "We're Closed" notice on the home page.

Does anyone know if this is just a "vacation" note or is he closing permanently or just for awhile?

    Thanks,

I got this email today ...

To our Past and future Customers

First of all I would like to personally take this opportunity to thank our 30+ Thousand Customers
for their Support, and patronage during our past Six years in Business.

We have take the liberty to Close on a temporary basis.

There are several reasons for our Closing temporarily.
    a) Our Current supplier is unable to keep us adequately stocked with products. (Delays)
    b) We have New Product on Order, from another supplier that has been delayed as well.
    c) We have had in the past many Items arrive is damaged condition. This has been problematic as well.
    d) Our Current and existing Stock levels are very low after such a busy Holiday Season. (Thank you)

During this time we will be taking some time off for a well deserved Holiday. Our "bladesnbits" Web site will be updated to incorporate Real Time Transactions. (Shopping Cart). Our New Web site which we will disclose later, to our Customers is being Created.

We have a lot of work going on behind the scenes here. So please check back, from time to time, as we hope to be re-opened within the next few months.

Whew, a 'few months' of down time has got to be putting a serious dent in the cash flow. I wouldn't do well if it happened to me - have to eat into the savings but I guess that's what it's for. Good luck to 'em. OTOH, I've been real pleased with Brian Holbren's offerings. No complaints about either. Good folks.
      Blessings,
      Chiz

        CGallery,

Thanks for posting the e-mail that you received from B-N-B. I had purchased a 30 bit set from them during the holidays and liked both the product and the very nice service. So, I was thinking of buying a couple of other bits from them. Hopefully they will be back in business in another month or so. In the meantime, I'll check elsewhere.

        Thanks again,

        CWS

Brian's eggs aren't all in one basket.
I imagine he has several suppliers. I have many sources for different supplies. Over just the few years I have been making shark's, several of these sources have dried up. Some have increased prices beyond what I am willing to pay. Way beyond in some cases. I have seen brass rod's jump from $15 for a 6' stick to nearly $28 for the same. All materials have increased some as has shipping, so the fuel crunch is being felt in every aspect of products and pricing.

I think Chiz alluded to that, as well.

BTW, the E-Mail wasn't to me. I've never ordered from the company. I just found a copy of it w/ Google.

I just logged onto the site - veeery slow but I was able to put items into the cart. I didn't go any further but it's a good indicator of life anyway.
                Blessings,

I have them as one of my Favorite Sellers on Ebay. Just checked their site it is up and running. I have used them a few timed before i found Holbren and have no complaints. Beware they are Canadian and I think they go on Holiday in August if you plan on ordering any thing.
