That partly depends on where you buy them. Rockler's t-bolt prices, which can approach a buck a piece, are absolute grand larcency: for example, they have bags of five 1" 1/4-20 t-bolts for $4.39. Lee Valley has the same size, qty 10, for $2.40.
Granted, this is not as cheap as a 1/4-20 hex head from Lowe's Depot, and you have to pay shipping. I circumvent this by tossing in a bag of t-bolts or other small items as fillers whenever I'm placing a larger order.
