    Lowes -- Biesemeyer Fence Clearance

I picked up this fence, rail, table and leg set yesterday from Lowes for $200 on clearance -- just couldn't pass it up.

Just a curiousity quesiton -- what all do you guys have Bies fences mounted to ?

I know it'll mount to the Delta saws. Would it mount to the Grizz hybrid ? Can I buy the Grizz hybrid without a fence in that case ?

Would it mount to the Ridgid ? What about the BT3100 ? I know of at least one guy using a T2 fence and rail with the BT.

It'll mount to the Ridgid I'm sure, but the stock fence is pretty darn good and it has the 36" rip capacity. I believe the Bies in question is 30", not that I envision making a lot of 30"-36" cuts. But I can when the need arises.

    A good deal anyway though.

I emailed Grizzly about their G0478 I had been looking at. I was hoping that they sold it without the rails / fence but apparently they don't. Was hoping it'd get the price of their saw down below $600 -- worth a try.

I have some Lowes gift cards burning a hole in my pocket anyway -- so I'll probably go with the Delta contractor's saw.

It'll mount to just about any standard full size cast iron saw. Some drilling may be required, but CI drills nicely. The Commercial fence has a nylon pad that rides along the table...if you mount it to a saw with grated wings, you'll want to replace the right side wing with something smooth like a laminate table.

Mine's on Craftsman 22124 made to accept it with no drilling. I did however slide the rails over one set of holes to right to give it nearly 41" cut capacity on the right, and only 8" on the left, which is about 8" more than I ever use over there.

You can always sell the Griz fence (or the Biese) if you go with a Grizzly saw. It'd be a shame to let that stop you if that's the saw you want. Delta offers some saws with no fence. I don't think I'd try to mount the Biese to the BT3100...it's awefully heavy in relation to the saw.

$200 is a great price for the industry standard. It's pleasure to use, goof proof, bullet proof, quite accurate, made of some really strong materials. Keep the front rail waxed and it'll glide nicely. Congrats and enjoy.

That's great feedback, thanks very much.

I like the idea of moving it over to the right side. 48-50" to the right of the blade obviously covers every possible need but 41" is pretty dang close.

I saw someone mention mounting the T2 fence to their BT3100. I was hoping to see some pictures of that. But I have it in my head that I want something with a cast iron top now so I'm ready to take that leap. That G0478 really seems hard to pass up but it's more than I can justify spending and the whole thing of buying without ever seeing / touching is hard to overcome.

          Thanks again.
