    Grizzly 1023s

    Morning all,

a local guy has his dads grizzly 1023s table saw for sale. It was bought in 2001 (has reciept)and used for a year before his father passed, and then stored in a storage unit since then.

It has the shopfox classic fence with the 30" capacity rails.

He is asking 600.00, and they are currently 925.00 new, is his asking price about right if it it has been used so little and no damage from storage?

Does the grizzly hold its value? Anyone know if they changed anything in the last 6 years? Will i find any as good for new in this range.

I had my heart set on one of the jet deals last time from amazon, but didnt commit fast enough, so now i am looking for other options. Plus it sounds like I might not have got it anyway, if my luck runs along with Jeff's!

    thanks
    Jesse

$600 sounds like a nice deal if it's in nice shape. Is there a mobile base, other doodads, or blade(s) included?

I'd be looking with the intent to buy...

Everyone I've ever heard of who had the Griz 1023 loved it. I dunno about retaining value, probably not too many get sold used because except for maybe a Sawstop or Euro Slider, there's not much to upgrade to.

Sounds like an awesome deal to me, I'd jump on it.

I think that is for sure right tilt, if memory serves. That may, or may not matter at all.

I'd say jump on it, that's a pretty good deal. I paid $600 for mine and it was 10 years old when I bought it, but it did come with a 50" Unifence.

About the only thing that's change in the last 6 years, already mentioned is they are offered in left tilt now.

It only being used for a year at that price it's going to be hard to beat, you might find cheaper, but one that has been run hard.

I have no regrets with mine.

Go for it Jesse. Those saws go for around $800 used on Craigslist in Seattle. Even if you go new, you still have to pay shipping, which brings the new price over $1000. If it isn't all rusty, $600 is a good deal. I've had the Shop Fox version of the same saw since winter and I love it.

Don't forget to budget for a Shark Guard!

I HAD one...and I am in the very small minority of former owners. I only sold it because I was moving and didn't think I would do anymore woodworking. That was a pretty big mistake, since I now have more kids and a much smaller tool budget.

I LOVED it. It had more power than I ever used and was always accurate. The dust collection was great, an the noise and vibration were minimal. I would JUMP on it.

NOT on purpose, but it could be handy for this!

Actually i called the 3 times since it was advertised, over the last 3 days, and talked to him once and he said i was the only one to call.

The last message about 2 hours ago, I told him i could meet him and would buy it right then just let me know when, and he still hasnt got back to me yet.

So even knowing my location, I dont think anyone has a good chance of winning this race. Doesnt he know us wood workers are a motivated bunch, and want our toys immediatley?

                    maybe tommorow

                    I'll let you know
