Not sure if I need the disc sander but am really interested in the planer. I am going to look at them right after work today.

You might want to call and ask first about the model #, and read prior threads here, eg this one, and the links within it.

Dunno if $125 is a good deal for a 2 year old equipment which originally cost only $199, but if it's in good shape you probably can't do better anywhere else.

*Seems* a lil high but CL is a little tricky to give advice on cuz it depends on your location. I've seen the Ryobi brand (not sure if it's the same model) go for $75 and a Ridgid for $150 in my area.

Columbus seems to have a lot of good CL deals

On the planer, if it's an AP13, thats a good model. AP1300 or AP1301, I'd personally pass on it.

The price is only OK. Definately not worthy of a "you suck" but if you need a planer, not a terrible way to get into one.

The planer looks to be the Ryobi AP1300, which is superior to the 1301 planer that replaced it. (The 1300 is the same planer sold [manufactured?] by the well-regarded German company Metabo; the one annoying result of this is that the screw is calibrated in mm rather than in inches.). If it's in good condition, the price seems not too ridiculous.

Since no one's commented on the sander I'll throw in my 2 cents. I picked up one of these sanders brand new from rockler a couple of months ago for a net cost of $104 plus tax. It was on sale from $179 to $129 plus they threw in a $25 gift card for purchases over $100. Rockler doesn't have this deal anymore but the sander just went on sale again for $129. I guess what I'm trying to say is if it were me I'd pass on the used sander unless I could talk him down to $80 or so.

I feel like a thief this morning. I was supposed to go look at this planer and sander last night after work but got a call from the guy that said he got called out on a service call and would call me when he got home. Just after 11 last night he called and we set up a meet on my way to work this morning (the boss is off today so I was a little late getting here but he is a woodworker and will understand). I got to the guys house at 7 and by 7:45 we had a done deal. I ended up getting a Ryobi AP1300 planer with two sets of new blades (unopened) and The Delta 31-120 12" disc sander. He was cleaning out and I also picked up two of the adjustable roller stands like the ones from HD.

The advertised asking price for the planer and sander was $225. Grand total after bartering, out the door was $175.00

Bottom line is I am tickled pink.

No arguments there - you made out like a highway robber. Congrats. But now you need to start using all that .
