I can't decide between the Bosch Colt or the Dewalt Trim Router. Any suggestions? I have read a couple of poor reviews lately for the Colt..but some of them sound like people didn't know what they were doing. Looking for a tool that will handle small router projects (signs, edge routing for shelves and drwers, etc.). Basically I want it to handle any routing project that I can't use my router table on.
Whats the best trim router?

I second that!
Would that make it Colt-Colt-Colt-Colt-Colt-Colt?
If came down to single speed or variable- now that's a tough one..."You should give blood on a regular basis.."

was rated as best value. I was at Grizzly this past week. Completely sold out
for at least 6 weeks! Really bummed with that news.Comment

Two problems with the colt:
1) the red spindle lock is horrible. Get a small matching wrench to fit the slots on the spindle.
2) the locking ring below the collect on the shaft will sometimes spin loose and come off. It uses an offset pin driver like a disk sander to put back on. Locktight doesn't seem to help.Comment

I have the Grizzly--scored it for Father's day, along with a bunch of clamps. The model # is H7790 for metal body, H7791 for plastic body. Current price on the web site is $39.95 for the 7790 and $45 for the 7791. They are identical, except for the body of course, and the 7791 comes with a microadjust thumbwheel. The '90's height adjustment is tap-it-gently-then-tighten-the-thumbwheel.
I'm very happy with my '90--but then again it's the only trim router I've ever owned.
