The "head" on your "R2D2" looks a lot like my Toshiba vac. I liked the pict that you posted! Great tutorial!

      Thank you so much

You can see all the "it looks like your 'triangle square' & 'screw clamps' are also home made" in my posts.

I'm also frustrated from the so called "Instruction manual"...

But, I'll tell you a secret from my "black past", I was in Aviation for 36 years and at some point, I was an instructor for 3 years, within this job, I had to write kind of instructions or explanations for the drawings that I was presenting in the classes...that was long time ago but probably something of that remained...

No book as long I can walk by myself to the garage...

      Thanks again

I went to the garage to check the vac, it's "Shinko Seisasho" 1000w and it's made it Taiwan...but it's working already 9 years

They are probably the same with different brand names on them. Mine is a 2 speed fan also. The label on your pict says" 2 speed fan. Can't read the "speed" character due to the light reflection but the rest is readable.

            Cool!

I swear, ever time you post something, there is always one or two "that's a great idea!" bit to it. I love the way you figured out how to "snug up" the rollers with the single screw - brilliant!

I had it long time in my head and today I did it (after drilling 400mm walls for vents installation).

For the center part I used two 1-9/16" counter top boards (chipboard covered with Formica) and for the sides 18mm plywood covered with Formica (everything from left-overs).

As Vertical rollers I used iron rollers (just found them in the drawer) but if you are planning to roll it on the table, use the plastic ones.

If you are going to make it, may I advise that, first, cut only ONE center part (this 1-9/16" chipboard).
I cut it to 1/8" wider than required and then, trimmed it, 1/32" at a time, till I got the Horizontal rollers almost fit without turning the "Bolts".
Then, without changing the rip fence position cut the second 1-9/16" board to get 100% fit with the first one.

The travel, is limited by your fence length (maybe I'll make longer fence).

It's rolling nicely without any side play and the test results (on the pics) were excellent...now I have to find some project...

And the rest is on the pictures

You also "stepped-in" some 4~5 months late

The pics disappeared together with all my Photobucket album.

I'll try to reload them soon

                  Hi Kmk

I re-loaded the pics...in the mean time I improved the jig by covering all the front surface with sanding paper and making a dedicated hold down clamps that you can see in other post (Hold down clamps for everything).

Actually, just two days ago I used the jig to make some tenons and it's really pleasure (and fast)...I cut the shoulders on the "Rolling TS sled" and all the process was a "piece of cake"...
