    Which magizine rated orbital sanders?

I know I read an article in one of the magazines where they rated the various orbital sanders but can't remember which. Anybody remember or know? Now this is a orbital sander not Random-orbit sanders. I know the tool guide did one on the ladder but isn't what I'm interested in. Thanks for any help.

I think it was in 'Wood'. I'll have to see what issue.

FWW did. Not sure which issue it was originally in, however the article was in the 2007 Tool Review issue. Is there anything in particular that you are looking for?

Thanks Jeffrey but I'm afraid it's not in that issue. That was actually the first place I looked when I first wanted to see the review and just now again after you mentioned you thought it was also there but sadly no. There's the one on random orbital but not just the orbit 1/4" sheet sanders. The reason I'm looking is I am thinking about buying one as I'm not happy with my 1 year old Ridgid that I actually just started using in the last couple of days. It's too darn difficult to control. I mean it's all over the place. You try and get into a cornier and that thing won't let you. Well it will but it takes both hands and seems to be overly aggressive leaving IMHO way too many scratch marks that have to be hand sanded. My biggest complain though is trying to sand 3/4" edge banding around say a table top. It's way too hard to control. I tried my random orbital but it's difficult for me to keep the round base 90 degrees whereas the square base of a orbit is easier not too mention less aggressive. Anyway thought I'd check out which sander they recommended. I hope somebody knows as I'd hate to have to page thur 40 or 50 magazines.

Oh, didn't realize you were looking for 1/4" sheet sanders. IMHO PC SpeedBloc is about the only way to go there. Awesome machine. Very fine scratch pattern, very low vibration. Only draw back is no dust collection.

No dust collection. You guys are tough! I'm afraid I am way to big of sissy to not at least have a bag. Being a smoker all my life I don't need anything else affecting my old lungs.
