    Opinion on used RAS

What do you guys think of this? He's asking $40. I didn't think I needed one but it would be nice to use on dados.

You should be able to come out smelling like a rose.

Craftsman's aren't nearly what the old DeWalts are (I am a little bias'd ) however, for $40, if you don't like it, google radial arm saw recall, as that model number doesn't have a kit.

That means, they send you a shipping label (and I think box), and you send them the yoke and motor, and get a check for $100, then you can scrap metal the rest or make an overhead router.
If it holds it's alignment well, use it for dado's and/or get a Mr Sawdust blade for it, or a LU83 series blade. Or just the normal negative hook angle crosscut blades.
She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice.

          Morning P 8..

If you have the room and it is in working order.. how could you go wrong at $40? At that price I think space would be more of an issue than price as they have a tendency to grab some from you!

          Regards...

Heck, that's slightly less than the kit HF sells to make a RAS from a circular saw (a concept that is probably even more dangerous than the recalled models)--and if that stand comes with it...

It is an Emerson built saw, as long as you don't try to rip with this saw, $40.00 is a good deal. I have one slightly older, and I plan to use it as a
dedicated dado cutter. Good luck with your purchase.
