The shaft on the motor of my drill press just snapped. It is a probably 50 year old Craftsman. It has served me well. Do I put it out to pasture or get a new motor. It takes a 110 v,145 frame motor. The motor that was on it was 1/6 hp but it seemed stronger. I guess I will need a 1/4 -1/3 hp as a rep. Any suggestions?

I've heard lowes is closing out the Delta DPs dirt cheap. You may want to check out the Richmond store. Post back if they have any other hot closeouts.Gary -

Why not take the motor to a electric motor repair shop, they may have another armature they could replace that with and fix your problem cheaper
than trying to get another motor. eezlockComment

Never mind. My neighbor had an old 1/3 hp motor. A coupe of dollars in hardware and some scraps to make a motor mount and it's back and better than ever.spellling champion Lexington region 1982Comment
