Biscuit Joiners: Dewalt 682 vs Makita 3901

Pretty tough finding reviews online that cover these two units. Found one from 2002 that slightly favored the Makita, but I've seen lots and lots of posts here from happy Dewalt and PC users.

So, anyone have experience w/ the Makita and can anyone compare it to the Dewalt?

    Thanks!

I have the Dewalt and am happy with it. During my search for a biscuit joiner I read a review (FWW I think) that was after 2002. Top honors went to the Porter Cable 557 (after those really, really expensive Italian models) with the Makita following behind the PC. They had an issue with the blade not being parallel to the fence on the Dewalt but I have not experienced that. All my cuts have been true and precise. That said, the Makita was rated pretty high on the list. Sorry, no direct experience with the Makita.

I have the Makita. I think it was one of my first "quality name" tools. I haven't used it a ton, but it's worked well every time I have.

        Makita. Makita. Makita.

Some Amazon reviews compare multiple models.

HeavyDutyTools.net was blowin' them out for $138...and they came with a case. Currently sold out.

I had a Ryobi (the one that cuts slots 1/32" thicker than spec.). When it came to replace it, I didn't want to make another mistake. I read every review I could find and got the Makita.

I've only use it for one project (attach a FF to a cabinet), but it worked great.
