3 PH, single phase, 220V Powermatic with 50 inch Bies fence advertised on CL for $800. I have no idea where to put it in an already crowded shop but I think I'm going to bite this time. I figure it'll always be worth at least that much.

I see you two guys are "California locals". I have a feeling this deal is going to slip away because I got tied up earlier in the day and now cannot get in touch with the seller.
However, I'm thinking that by the time I rent a truck and some help to move the PM, I can buy the Jet saw with extras and delivery thrown in for not a lot more:

A Powermatic would be nice but I think I could live with a Jet.Comment

Yah I can attest to good deals going fast. I missed out on a PM and Uni even though I called only a few hours it was posted. And I had to wait a long time just find those deals. Finally got lucky with a Craftsman hybrid but had to drive all the way down to San Diego.
Man the things a guy has to do to get a good deal. Funny thing is now that I got a saw, I'm seeing good deals everywhere. Like a Ridgid 3650 for $300.
Btw, I think the JET deal is dead.-PaulComment

I take that back. The 50-inch is still available.

Well this is interesting. I can choose between a right-tilt Delta Unisaw with a 50 inch Bies fence and outfeed table for $933 that does not include a router table or a roughly similar jet with the router table for $1079.
Tough to decide between them.Comment

I've decided to buy the Jet. Turns out the Delta is a cheaper clone of the Uni that gets very poor reviews. Furthermore I've decided I'm going to lynch Jeffrey Schronce for luring me to the Dark Side and costing me a thousand bucks
