So I picked it up in Richmond on Saturday, and thanks to the 20% off coupon I got here, I drove away with the 2 boxes for just under $200. I picked up a few various tools as well as the 4" cross slide vise while I was there too.
I'll assembly the trailer sometime this week. Thanks again!Comment

Once you are done cursing the Chinese translators and have it together, would you mind taking some measurements of it folded (width, depth, height)? If it is smaller than what HF lists on their web site, maybe i could find a place in the garage to squeeze it.So I picked it up in Richmond on Saturday, and thanks to the 20% off coupon I got here, I drove away with the 2 boxes for just under $200. If you are short on space for storage, you probably want the version with 8 inch tires. It is cheaper and you will gain 4 inches in depth. Height folded is taller than me (I'm 6'2+") - maybe 6'6". Width is the width of the fenders over 4 feet - around 5 feet. Depth is what the smaller tires would help. Its the wheel diameter plus maybe another 6-8 inches.
Is there a particular dimension you are tight on? The irregular shape will make measurements difficult.
Another caution I would offer for those considering this trailer - and I recommend it, don't get me wrong - is that it is a pretty good one man job to fold and un-fold it. I'm about 200 lbs and in decent shape (I still do 50 pushups 3 times a week for instance) and I manage it but my wife certainly could not and I am not sure my 24 year old son could safely do it. If you are not above average in physical ability, you probably need a helper (and it wouldn't hurt me to have a helper). You fold the back half over the front part and then tilt the whole thing to vertical and then fold the tongue part down. It is real tippy with the tongue 10 to 12 foot into the air. Not a huge big deal but something to keep in mind.

Try this one. Oops. Already been posted. Oh Well. The guy I got it from says it works. I have not tried it yet. If it works, let me know. No expiration so you can print as many as you want.

The approximate height measurement helps - it tells me i can't slide it underneath some upper cabinets on the wall. The other dimension i'm most interested in would be the depth (looks like folded it may be the top of the fender to the bottom of the wheel).

I'll take those measurements after I get it together. Not sure when that will be though depending on the weather and such; probably this weekend.
That 20% coupon is the one I used. It doesn't scan so the manager had to enter it manually. Not sure if a stickler type manager would let it fly though. It was listed $230 in the store, so I got mine for $185 before tax!Comment

I just did a quick "eye-ball" measurement on mine. I would say it stands about 6'3" tall, is about 5'2" wide and is about 24 1/2" deep. It is a 12 inch wheel version. I think you would have to save at least a couple inches depth for the 8 inch wheel (the difference in the radius of the wheel) because the wheel is the limitation on one side. Maybe there is something I am missing but I think the 8 inch wheel would drop you below 24 inches. I might be an inch off on any of these but I tried to look at the depth pretty close since it was indicated as critical.

Was at the local HF today and tried to use the 20% coupon posted.Cashier tried to scan but will not work, she called the manager and he stated he just got an e-mail from their corporate office instructing them not to accept coupons that will not scan because of fake coupon with 20% and 30% discounts.Comment

Yeah, they do not accept the 20% off coupons. I bought the folding trailer at the store last week. It was on sale at $239 and I was able to use a 15% off coupon that someone had forgotten there. Totsl came to $203.99. Pretty good deal...at the time. I have been having a **** of a time trying to get the brake lights to work on it. I have been working on the lights, trying different things, and different harnesses, and still no brake lights. These lights are doing weird things and I am about to take it to someone to get them to get them working right.Just think of something witty and pretend you saw it here.Comment

Check for a loose/open chassis connection... I'm sure there's a good reason for using the chassis, but that seems to be the problem on 99% of the trailers with wonky lighting that I've had the misfortune to work on... On my brother's ~40 year old boat trailer we finally just added another wire for ground to each fixture, problem solved...Comment

Yeah, that is same as my stepdad says to do. I know that the signal is good up to the harness. I will try to put some ground wires on somewhere.....I hope it works.....
The weird thing with these lights is that with the left signal on, the left turn and marker lights on BOTH sides would blink, and with the right signal on, only the rear turn would blink, no marker lights. Weird, and then if I turn on the tails on my van, all lights on the trailer would go out.
Next project for the trailer is modifying the hitch to work with my van.......Last edited by rosesunkist; 04-15-2007, 09:44 PM.Just think of something witty and pretend you saw it here.Comment
