Anyone heard of this brand?? It says it's a AMT 5-1/2" 7/8 HP jointer. I'm pretty sure it some Taiwanese HF type brand but for the price I don't really care. I'm just concerned about being able to get replacement blades for it.

Good news bad news
The good news is it's an American tool. That is the only good news.
The bad news, AMT was bought out some years ago, by someone wanting their manufacturing capibilities. All woodworking machines and documentation was tossed, and no parts are supplied anymore. They had a 4 1/2" version of this that Sears sold (was a major AMT customer).
You can probably get blades, but it probably won't be a local, conveinent source. It would be an aftermarket manufacturer. She couldn't tell the difference between the escape pod, and the bathroom. We had to go back for her.........................Twice. -
Be Careful
Don't know about this brand, but I had a similiar sized machine and found anything much over 2.5 ft was hard to do. Also must of the smaller jointers do not have outfeed table height adjustments. Worked great on small board. Mine was a ShopFox, sold it.

Jointer blades are usually attached to slots in the roller spindle using 2 hex head set screws per blade. Some of the newer jointers have holes drilled in the blades - to simplify the setting of the blades.
I am not familiar with this machine. However, chances are the AMT blades do not have predrilled holes in them. So any 4" blade without holes will most likely work as long as the blade is of a similar size and thickness.
I don't know how old this machine is, but you may be able to get replacement blades from Sears Parts, if you can identify the model number of the Sears version of the Jointer. Some Sears retail stores carry jointer replacement blades and may have the required blade.Comment
