My Craftsman 10" setup so far so good

(Sorry to read Jim's Sears experience elsewhere in this forum.)
I bought my 21400 band saw late this afternoon & (just in case) paid the extra $15 for extended warranty which I never do normally - for complete exchange instead of 'repair'?
Maybe it's the night shift? The crew were all 'kids' but nice enough. Linebacker size fellow from stockroom picked up the 70+ lb. box and gently laid it in my trunk.
Thought the upper trunion was missing - but found it tucked inside the upper foam packing!
Impressed with the guide assemblies, but the bottom guides must be adjusted before the table is bolted on. Haven't checked the alignment of the slot in the table with the blade yet.
Runs smoothly - no vibration, I'll try the nickel test later when the machine is perfectly level.
    Has a 'business like sound'.

Do you know about kickback? Ray has a good writeup here... https://www.sawdustzone.org/articles...mare-explained

      Setup - Mod's already?

      Thanks, Ed
Pondering how to modify the blade tension knob with either a hand wheel or
crank. The bolt up through the tension yoke into the steel adjusting slug is M8 x 1.25 pitch maybe 50 mm long. I'm not a 'drill-a- hole" modifier so aim for something that can easily be reset to factory.

The holes in the U shaped welded steel mounting bracket supporting the yoke are slotted & can be adjusted +/- 0.25 horizontally to center the blade in the table slot.
(To adjust, loosen the blade, the 4 mounting bracket bolts & tracking knob.)
The yoke also has about 3/32 side play within the supporting bracket.
By the way, the upper wheel assembly hooks over the tension yoke horizontal
pin so it can be lifted off instead of having to pull out the pin.
My apologies for these newbie ramblings - I down sized from a Ridgid BS 1402 so am mentally comparing 'father & son' tool sizes.

Craftsman 10" BS - what's the "slider" for?

Inside the upper guide assembly, toward the upper wheel, there's an aluminum strip with triangular plastic pieces on each end. It's called "slider" in the parts list, but I'm puzzled what its used for?
