    Delta table saw

I found a Delta contractor's saw with 1 1/2 HP motor and a movable base for 300.00. It does not have solid iron extension wings, but steel. It is in very good contidition. They are asking 300.00. Should I consider. I don't have a model number, but do you think this is a good price for a Delta Contractors saw? do you think it would be a lot better than the BT?

Without knowing the model I'm not positive but it seems steep to me. I got one with a mobile base (only 1HP and shorter fence) for $100. The new model at Lowes runs for $449 I think + fence price (varies on what type of fence). The TS350 is on sale for $99 at Lowes if you can find one. What part of California do you live?

If this is what it is I think you are OK. If it it is much less then I would pass.

This isn't mine nor do I know the guy but I saw this and thought you might be interested. The one posted by messmaker is similar to the one Lowe's carries but Lowes has cast iron extension wings. good luck with what ever saw you get.

(still need to add a fence).

$300 sounds steep for a CS w/steel wings, but it really depends on the fence, age, and condition. If it's got a T2, Unifence, or Biesemeyer fence, it's probably worth that. Addons can add some value too...mobile base, decent blades, dado, router table etc.

The mass, induction motor, additional table space, and reliability are all factors a saw like this has going for it. You can add CI wings, and update the fence if needed/wanted...just about any aftermarket fence and 27" wings will fit. Factor what you think it needs into the total cost, then weigh all those factors. See if you can get us a pic or at least a model #....
