Last week Loring posted that Rockler was having a 1/2 price sale on the little Incra Positioner ($30, normally $60). I had passed on the same sale previously. This time around I had already been thinking about the handiness of such a gadget. So I got one.
I installed it today. I basically inserted a couple t-nuts into the bottom of my existing router extension, and then made a mounting board with a couple of slots so I can adjust the positioner on the table. This is pretty typical of how they are attached.
I tested it a little and I'm pretty impressed. Couple of hits: (1) Allows quick, precise, and repeatable adjustment (to the 32nd of an inch) of the fence over an 8" range. (2) Scale is read easily in the position I typically stand when I'm using the router table.
Miss: (1) Make of nylon. Yeah, it was only $30, I wasn't expecting unobtanium. I think it will hold up find as long as I'm careful with it.
I still have to add a t-slot to the fence for stop blocks. And I have to watch the included DVD to learn better how to use all its features.
I still intend to use my table saw fence for most routing, and only use this one when I need that 32nd inch footwork.
Included some pics of the current saw setup. Really liking the miter sled, using it for everything.
