    Fein "Multimaster"

Is anyone familiar with it? https://www.multimastertv.com/vcc/fe...master/193222/ A friend of mine asked me about it tonight. They're thinking about finishing the inside of a new home, and might consider buying one. It seems kind of pricey for a tool like that, but what do I know?

I don't own one, so I have no idea what I'm talking about. The consensus seems to be that it's a little like owning a Dremel tool or scroll saw--you don't need it often, but when you do nothing else will work.

Awsome little sander. Now the are seling it as a wonder tool. It does a few things real well but I hardly use it. It's seems to be a great detail tool.

The tool is beautifully balanced strong and well made. It was made to remove casts in hospitals the blade only moves 2 degree's

      they found other uses...

My only complaint is the cost of the blades that are needed. It is a great tool for what it does. Detail sanding work and fine cuts in hard to reach places, straight and square cuts to add in wall sockets and light switches, flush cuts too. Great on grout. And on all the cuts and even sanding, does not throw dust and particles as much as normal sanders, saws and dremmels.

Is it worth the price? Depends on you. For me it was. I prefer a tool that does the job well if I can afford it.

I don't own one myself but last Saturday I stumbled on an infomercial for one. I must say they make it look appealing and like gsmittle says, when you have a use for it I am sure it would be great to have around.

            Oh, One other use:

I had mine here in Japan in 2001. I broke my left wrist in the States a week before my return to Japan in August of 01. The doctor put a cast on I got the OK from the doctors to return. I left the cast on for 8 weeks. THEN I used the MultiMaster to remove the cast.

This is the basic technology that cuts through a cast without cutting the skin.
