    Porter Cable Compact Belt Sander

    Model 371K

Has anyone seen/read about/ used one of these? Any information on real world use would be appreciated.

All that I have found out is that the belts are reather expensive and a little difficult to come by (I haven't checked with Klingspor yet), and there being no dust bag means you really have to connect a hose which cuts down on the small portability factor somewhat when using on smaller objects.

    P-C sander

Give Klingspor a call, they usually will have the belts you need or can get them from their warehouse in Hickory for about any machine you would have.
If they don't ask Jim Rivers to order them for you. eezlock

I took a serious look at that sander and didn't like it for two reasons. it isn't really much smaller then a standard belt sander and the belts are an odd size/hard to find.
maybe it's just me but when I looked at the pictures I envisioned it being slightly larger then a palm sander. in reality it's substancially larger then that.

I have had one for a month or so and it is a pretty good sander. The belts may be a bit more expensive but the sander is extremely well made. My 69 year old arms appreciate the fact that i can pick it up and sand some end grain without my arm dropping off. The dust collection port is first class
