Circ Saw blades - recommendation

Got a older Skil worm drive saw recently. I'm planning to do a little demo. Any recommendations on a blade? I was thinking about the PC Riptide or DEWALT DW3578.

You can't really go too wrong for that kind of money. Great for ripping. For a nice crosscut, try a 40T, carbide tipped.

I use a freud 40T ATB on my circular saw, has given me great results at a cost of about 15$

If you want a GREAT blade buy the Freud Diablo it comes in 7 1/4 and 10"

anyone know the difference between these two blades? The specs seem identical but I do have a worm drive saw. So should I get the W series?

You can't see it in the picture but the "W" worm drive version has a diamond knockout removed around the arbor hole. I guess those saws don't use a standard round arbor hole but a diamond shaped one. You can see the outline of the diamond if you look close enough.

You don't want the W version and the other one for 10 bucks seems like a deal.

I think the only difference is that one is sold by amazon.com itself, the other by an "outside" vendor.

The Skil 77 has a diamond-shaped arbor, so you will need a blade with the knockout. Most 7-1/4" framing blades have this, because the mfrs know that a lot of nailpounders use 77s. I can see the outline of the knockout in all four of the blades you linked to, so you'll be good to go with any of them.

Blade I almost always have on my CS: Ridgid titanium 24T framing. Excellent blade. I also have a 40T Freud Diablo, but it sees more use on TS than on CS. I use it to cut plastic, aluminum, laminates etc. Also a very good blade.

I've got a cheap little $25 Skil brand circular saw and it cuts like a dream with my Freud Diablo 7 1/4".
