Cleaning the Ridgid 13" planer

I have been planning a bunch of wood and I would like to clean the two feed rollers. My question how do you do it. I can't seem to move them manually and the instruction manual does not say how to do other to clean the with a pitch remover. Do you have to disassemble the the machine to clean them?

I'm with you on this one. I finally gave up and just turned the motor on to spin the things in a roulette-wheel type attempt to get the dirty part pointing down (that last slice can take a while).



I'd love to hear a better plan.
