Why do you need a new table? Most of these tables decrease maximum height of cut by 3/4". Can you afford a 3/4" drop in maximum cutting depth?

I haven't installed mine yet, but if you can get the Rockler table on sale I think it's a pretty good deal for the quality of the product. The fence allows to adjust for drift, and the track can be used for feather boards and circle cutting jigs (and I think it comes with a circle cutting jig as well).

But I think it all comes down to if you want to spend more $ or not...

Have you considered the "Ultimate" bandsaw table? I like mine:

I added the Rockler table, but mainly 'cause I was too lazy to build my own and wanted to on with other projects. But I do like it a lot.

Wood Magazine has a bandsaw table plan aswell. you might want to look into that aswell.

                    regards,

I can't connect right now to find the right link, but if you go to the forum at www.woodnet.net , and search for a bandsaw table design posted by someone called "photog", you will find a very nice design. The photos documenting it are very nice, as you might expect.

                      Edit:
                      Here's the link.

I strongly recommend that you look this one over before deciding what to make or buy.

Oops! What am I thinking? This is a drillpress table.

I have built one and sold it with the BS since. All I can say is that the materials will cost you close (if not more) to what the Rockler table costs.

till the 25th of this month, if you buy the rockler one, they will give you a free rip fence with that table (which is a must wiht a band saw). so maybe this is the better deal. no time spend planning, buying material, building. just buy and start cutting!

I was looking at the Rockler one and saw something sort of annoying - it looks like you have to remove the table every time you want to change blades? Anyone with this table - is this true? Ouch!

Yes you must remove the table each time you change blades. But this also allows easier access to the saw guides for adjustments on different blades
