Any info on Craftsman Band Saw (mode #224320)?

    Hi all,

Does anyone out there had any experience with the 12" Craftsman Band Saw, model 137.224320? It is about 4 years old. I've read a couple of favorable reviews here about the 22432, but searches on the net haven't come up with much. There were a couple of posts on the craftsman tooltalk message board, but the posts were so old that they were unavailable. What I gathered is that this model was only sold for a short amount of time, and am trying to find out if there was a reason for that before buying a used one. I am new to band saws and don't know what to look for. I would like one to do some resawing, maybe up to 6".

    Thanks for any help,

I could not find a spec on the resaw depth of this saw. But I did find a forum

    http://cb13f.cpu-etc.com/

    and a review

Also there is a thread here on it.

You might conside the new 12” Craftsman it claims a resaw of 7” and is on sale now.

I think history would have been very much different if Leonardi DiVinci had a belt sander.

I have one that I purchased when they were discontinued. I haven't used it for an extensive amount of work but I have been happy with it so far.

I did recently purchase the riser kit listed at the site listed in the post above. I won't be installing it until the weather warms up a bit.

Let me know if you have any specific questions about the saw.

I also own this saw. I dont do much bandsaw work, but it works when I need it. I have just ordered the riser block for this saw also, though it might be awhile before I install it. No complaints about the saw...
