    Small Tool Gloat

Hello everyone, Well I made a connection over the past week to an old friend. In our conversation I found out that he is into woodworking as well. I also found out that he had an EXTRA Band saw that he had in storage. It is a 14" Bett-Marr. I asked him what his plans were for it and to my surprise he offered it to me FREE of CHARGE. After I picked myself up off the floor, I accepted it. Then he told me the things it needed.
1st was a Motor, Which he already had . It had to be adapted to the stand but it worked out nicely.
2nd was Lubed up, all the bearings were OK but a little stiff. With some penetrating spray they work well now.
3rd Wiring had to be redone. No big deal here.
4th New blade installed (which he had as well.)
So to add my expense up, $0 dollars. Here are some pictures My son took tonight. Now I need Ideas for a new table for it and fences. Any and all Ideas are thankfully accepted. Also has anyone ever heard of this make?Just wondering how good it is. I will research it later.

SO How did I do? As if I don't know that answer to that one.
    Keep Making that Sawdust.

    You Suck!

    gratz on the tool find
All men dream, but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that it was vanity: but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dream with open eyes, to make it possible

That looks like a nice piece of old iron. I see you have already inquired at OMM.
Shop made fences are just as useful as the $100 ones, IMO.

Oh Lance, you do indeed suck big-time!
Congrats on the new bandsaw, use it safely. I think bandsaws are the most dangerous tool in the shop because they don't appear to be, and give a false sense of security.

I think you paid too much for it. If you pay the shipping, I'll give you half what you paid. (Then I can "suck")
