    HF Spindle Sander

    I pulled the trigger today on a HF spindle sander.

    The new flier has it on sale for $90 it is regularly $110 and with a 15% off coupon it cost $76.50.

    Upon opening the box I found it to be unusually well packed for a product from HF. It was snuggly between 2 styrofoam blocks. The top block contained all the accessories. This was similar to how our beloved BT3 was packed and may be further support of the rumor that it is made by Ryobi.

    The base is a dark blue plastic not the cheap type used for many of the Central Electric tools but the type that seems to have a bit more impact resistance. It has protrusions for all the accessory drums to be stored, slots for the table inserts and a wrench used to change the drums.

    The table tops is aluminum and of reasonable size for small to mid sized projects for larger projects an auxilary table would be needed to handle materials more easily and accurately.

    The motor is rated at 1/2hp and seems sufficiant for the job.

    Only time will tell if this tool stands up under use but for the price it seems well worth it if you aren't ready to drop $200 on the Ridgid spindle/belt sander.

    Just my opinion your your mileage may vary.
    Opinions are like gas;
    I don't mind hearing it, but keep it to yourself if it stinks.

    What is the model nuber and how big is the table size?

    If it's the one I am thinking of, it's very similar to the Ryobi, but with a smaller table, correct?
