    new style ajustable outfeed stand

This is the first time I've seen one like this.

Ridgid Adjustable floor stand with tilt top.

I broke my old roller stand and looked last week at the sears one I did not buy. Now needed one for some sheet cutting I need to do.

Lowes was out of their skil roller stands so across the street to HD and they had this cool stand. 29.95 but it is real steady and works great.

I see it has direction arrows. How does it work for use with the SMT for Crosscuts?

It piviots to lower the front edge of the top, then when the weight is on it it evens out.

        I like it...

I think you could use it sideways and the top would let the piece slide across it.

I'll have to try it and let you know...

I have had one for a couple of years now. The top has a pin and mating holes so you can lock it in place or let it sit at an angle where it can pivot once the wood hits it. It works pretty good. Only problem is you need to put some weight on the base if you are cutting big sheets of ply - otherwise it wants to tip over.

Nice stand, I have 2, but it CAN tilt over.

I have two. When ripping long boards, I put one in front of the saw (locked in the horizontal position). The other is in pivoting mode in back of the BT-3000. It's like having a helping hand - and they are quick to set up. They don't have the "rolling momentum" of metal rollers.

I've found that it helps to apply paste wax to the surface to help the wood slide easily over it. I also found that adjusting the outfeed stand just slightly below the level of the table saw is helpful. Otherwise, sagging wood can sometimes catch the stand and cause it to tip over.

On occasion, I manage to get the tilt top to flop over the "wrong" way. (A bit of an annoyance).

I also use them to cut full sheets of plywood by myself as well as with my planer and bandsaw.

I also have one... it does have a tendency sometimes to tip over. Make sure you don't let it fall; mine once fell and the plastic piece on the bottom that holds the pin broke.
